Survivor 47 Episode 2
Well, here we are (here I am?) for another episode of Survivor! It’s about to begin in Toronto/New York time, and I have Stack TV now, which means that I can watch it from the Alberta prairies as soon as it airs in Toronto, and THAT means a sneak peak and spoilers for all the eager Survivor fans who live in the later time zones.
Will Andy be OK? Will he implode again? Will GATA regret their choice to oust Jon?
At LAVO, Rome feels pretty great being on a winning team. He dug up his box, but it was too dark to read it, so he rehid it. Later he decided to share his find with Teeny. She knows that everyone wants him out, but now she is in on his plan with him. She decides to tell Kishan, because she doesn’t want to keep this secret from him. She brings Kishan to where Rome showed her it was stashed. The two of them read what it says. Rome is surprised to visit his box and find them already there, tells them that he hasn’t been able to read it himself yet. Teeny tells Rome that she wants to work with Kishan AND Rome. She felt she saved face, but Rome didn’t like that too much and he no longer feels he can trust her. Rome decided to take it for only one Tribal. Now they know that Rome will not be the first person voted off of their tribe.
-opening credits-
TUKU tribe seems to be hunting crabs, and Gabe found a huge one. TK says that Kyle is his number one. TK told Gabe to talk to people because people don’t seem to be talking about trusting him yet. TK talks to Tyana to feel her out and offer to work together. TK says to her that he doesn’t trust Gabe, he’d rather work with her and Kyle. She is elated to be part of that. The three of them get together and talk about all the good feels they have for each other. Tyana feels that Kyle is a “genuine soul”. I agree, he’s good stuff.
GATA tribe walks along the beach and Andy is feeling much better in a lot of ways, and he feels included. Everyone exagerates cheering about his coconut chopping, just like he wants them too. Everyone is working to make him feel as part of their group as possible. Anika says that he needs affirmation, and the vibe she is getting from him is “Toxic Clingy Boyfriend”. The girls apart from the two guys, chatting about stuff. Watching them, Andy feels curious and asks Sam what he thinks they are talking about, Sam says probly girl stuff. Sam wants to be someone Andy can trust and rely on. Sams efforts are working, Andy tells him that his mom will love him, awkwardly, Sam tells him he will love Andy’s mom too. He excuses himself to go to the can. As soon as Andy is alone, his brain gets busy and he decides to look for the advantage. Sam thinks of himself as the babysitter, and Sam as the baby. He returns to Andy to find him gone. Alone, Andy finds the advantage and decides to rehide it, planning to come back for it if he wants it. Pretty level headed of him, I’d say.

LAVO tribe enjoys having the camp supplies. Aysha is gushing about it, but she resents Rome wanting to be charge of the tools and the fire. Kishan thinks Rome is a showman. Rome brags that he can start a fire in 18 seconds. After a while longer than 18 seconds, he gives up and Kishan starts one almost immediately. Sol rubs his forehead as he says that Rome is a lot. Fellow tribemates have a lot of opinions about Rome, which makes me think that he will go far in the game, even though the things they are saying aren’t very nice. He has a lot of energy.
GATA Sam tells Anika that Andy went off by himself. They decide to go looking for the advantage themselves, wanting to beat Andy to it. Sam finds it and with Anika’s urging, he decides to take it. Anika feels that Sam was already a threat without the advantage, this makes him more of a threat, in her mind. They are carrying everyone’s water bottles, and the people at camp are getting thirsty. The job they are doing is taking a long time. Sam thinks that it is a nightmare to have Anika there with him, so he tells Sierra too, because he considers Sierra his number one. Anika tells Rachel. Sam suspects Anika would tell Rachel, so he tells Rachel too. Rachel goes with him to help untie all the knots. Andy is alone at camp, and he decides to go get the advantage after all. He finds it gone. So now the whole tribe knows that it has been found, but only Andy doesn’t know who has it. Rachel and Sam get the key untied. Andy feels sick, needs to think about things. Andy takes Sam for a walk to talk about finding it and not taking it. Sam acted like it was news to him. Andy says one of the girls found it. Sam plays along, those girls, they’re up to no good. Sam feels kind of bad, but Andy feels like he is building trust.
TUKU trio meets again in the water, and they talk again about their plans. Who would they vote out first? Sue, Caroline, Gabe? Gabe joins them. They tell Gabe that they are a four, but Gabe feels that they are not his four. Sue and Caroline are the people he feels drawn to. The wounded birds, as he calls them. Caroline does not trust him, and she cannot lie to him and pretend to trust. Gabe is surprised by her skepticism. Gabe decides to show her his idol. She decides to trust him. Caroline and Sue compare notes, and they decide to go ahead with him. Sue is excited. Caroline is cautiously optimistic.

TUKU Sue is trying to take a nap on the beach. Tyana, TK and Kyle join her. Sue says the sand is more comfortable than the camp. TK talked loudly and constantly and Sue becomes irritated because she can’t sleep. After the guys leave, Sue and Tyana complain together about TK. Tyana knows Sue can’t stand him, and she also can’t get a solid read on him, and she doesn’t think she vibes with him as a person. Yet, she is happy to be in an alliance with him and Kyle.
GATA Sam and Sierra start digging for the locked box. Sam constantly refers to her as his number one. They are disappointed to see that there is another box. He decides to play it safe. He gives Sierra the idol to hold, good for one tribal. He suggests saving Andy at the next tribal council, Sierra doesn’t like that idea, but she likes Sam, so she goes along with it.

Day 5 a challenge. On shore, but first in water. Tribes look shocked that Jon is gone instead of Andy. This is an immunity and reward challenge. Jump into ocean, race to a tower, retrieve a large bag of rice. Get bag through a small hole then to shore. Maneuvre a key through a maze. Tear open bag of rice and retrieve a ball. Balance ball down a winding snake track. First prize is a massive fishing kit, second prize is a smaller fisghing kit. LAVO sits out Aysha. TUKU sits out Sue.
LAVO is in the early lead carrying the rice to the next obstacle. All teams are climbing the obstacle or pushing the rice bag through the little hole. LAVO has rice through first. TUKU last, but all are pretty close to each other. Rome does the maze for LAVO. Tiyana and Rachel also do the maze for their tribes. They do the maze blind, they are on the opposite side of the maze. GATA is through first. Andy cuts the bag and looks for and finds the ball. LAVO is through, Sol cuts the bag of rice looking for the ball. Sam, Sierra and Anika guide the ball along the winding track. Genevieve, Rome and Kishan do the ball on snake thing for LAVO. TK, Gabe and Kyle do the ball on the snake for TUKU. All teams are neck in neck, balls fall, progress made, balls fall.
Rachel is pocketing handfuls of rice while everyone is focused on the obstacle. GATA begins to argue, Sam yells that they need to calm down. GATA wins immunity. Second place goes to LAVO. TUKU will head to tribal council.
Jeff calls Rachel out for pocketing rice. He tells her to empty her pockets. She does.
TUKU stands in a bit of shock at losing. Jeff talks a bit about how things might change when they head back to camp. Jeff notices that Tiyana was smiling, TK says that he does not associate with people who are cool with losing. Jeff takes their flint. Sue thinks that TK threw Tiyana under the bus when he said that about her smiling and she hopes that he will be sent home.

TUKU returns to camp to find that they still have hot embers and can revive their fire. Gabe notices Tiyana rolling her eyes a lot at things TK says. Gabe hopes that this means the four of them (Sue, Caroline, Gabe and maybe Tiyana) can vote out TK. Tiyana tells Kyle that she is upset at TK. Kyle agrees and says that when he loses a game he still high fives the other team. Kyle tells TK that Tiyana needs him to apologize. TK resists. TK thinks he is running the tribe. TK tells Tiyana that if she has a problem with him she needs to talk directly to him in the future. They seem to have worked it out. She reminds herself that she can work with someone even if she doesn’t like them. TK is after Sue. Tiyana agrees that Sue seems to be fizzling out. It always irritates me when people talk like TK does: “The way I’m moving the chess pieces around right now, everyone else is playing checkers!” Arrogant, thinking he is in charge. Part of me wants to see him knocked down a peg or two, but on the other hand, I can see why Kyle and Tiyana are attracted to working with him, he is a strong player.
-commercials-
TUKU The guys talk about Tiyana that she is almost bro. They agree that she is on board with them. Gabe wants them to believe that he is with them. He observes that TK feels extremely secure right now. Gabe talks with Sue and Caroline about bringing Tiyana in as a fourth to take out TK. Hmm, I’m not sure that this is going to work for them. Sue points out that Tiyana doesn’t know that Gabe is part of their alliance, all she needs to know is that it is girls against TK. Everyone is talking like they are willing to go to rocks, which means both TK and Sue would be safe, and one of the others would go.

The tribal council area is cave like. Lots of nooks where a cave-man could sleep for the night. TUKU looks around and admires it. They talk about natural pairings, Sue points out the bromance. How the girls are on the bottom. Tiyana agrees, yet, that’s Survivor. Kyle looks shocked that he’s in a bromance, he said he talked with the gals too. TK calls Sue in her own bubble. Sue rolls her eyes. An argument/bickering begins between TK and Sue. TK is a dominant man. Sue is a dominant woman. They clash. Gabe tries to smooth things out talking about strategic relationships and social relationships. Caroline points out that Gabe seems to be hunting for the advantage, Gabe says he likes to play at Indiana Jones on this island. TK repeats that no one should be ok with losing. Sue and Tiyana make eye contact behind him, and nod. Tiyana says she wants to move forward with people she can genuinely trust.
Voting, Tiyana repeats to herself that her instinct is never wrong, before writing down a name that is hard for her to write.
Gabe opts to play his idol for himself, saying Kyle had him feeling a little froggy. By playing the idol, Gabe makes himself less of a target by removing the idol from his game, but he is also saying that he trusts that Sue is safe, that Tiyana will vote the way he needs her to.
Sue-TK-Sue-TK-TK-TK
Kyle is stunned, poor thing. TK is also stunned, but Kyle has lost everything he thought that he had.
- Caroline-TK
- Gabe-TK
- Kyle-Sue
- Sue-TK
- Tiyana-TK
- TK-Sue
In his final words, TK repeats that he values winning, and them voting him out proves that they don’t value winning.
I can’t believe Tenney breaking Rome’s trust immediately! The audacity!
I laughed at the description of Andy being a clingy boyfriend.
Also Rome bragging about starting a fire in 18 seconds and then giving up and Kishan starting it right away and Sol rubbing his forehead and saying Rome is “a lot”. Gold. Lol.
Andy lost his advantage in a hilarious way and I think it is smart that they didn’t share with him that Sam had it.
Rachel pocketing rice was so smart. It seems cruel to waste food like that when they are so hungry.
I’m glad TK got out since he was so arrogant.
Thanks for summarizing so conversationally! I can’t watch it at home right now, so it is nice to be able to read what happened.
I’m so glad you’re visiting again this year, Lizz! And I’m glad you’re enjoying the Survivor blog.
I can’t wait to see the shenanigans they get up to tonight!
Sorry to be so late joining in on your Survivor blog.
I so hoped the Jon, the nice guy, would stay, but booo… they decided to oust the backstabber/faker. On the other hand, I’m glad to see TK and his arrogance gone! LOL
Sharon, it’s OK that you’re late, come when you can, I’m always glad to see you. Yeah, it was real satisfying to see TK go!
