My favourite reality show is Survivor and I used to visit Jackie’s blog for spoilers and to join with others who like to follow and discuss reality shows like Survivor and Amazing Race and Big Brother. Sadly, in February 2024 Jackie passed away and all of her followers had nowhere to land to mourn her loss, or to discuss the show, or to interact with each other, or to read spoilers if we miss an episode.
I scrambled to provide for us a landing space, summarizing each episode in such a way that is well illustrated in a meme I happened upon this summer:
“The joke’s on you, I don’t know how to make a long story short.”
A few people followed me to this site, but the different format from that which Jackie provided felt a little tedious to many. As I grow in experience I hope to improve my concise reporting skills, but it doesn’t really matter that much because the most important part of this web page is the conversations that happen between people who comment.
For season 47, I plan to implement the blog format, which is a bit more like what Jackie did, but because of this, you’ll probably have to wade through some of my other interests in between posts about Survivor:
In an effort to expand my shrinking vocabulary, I hope to post a word of the day (not every day, but whenever) from my brand new “Merriam Webster Vocabulary Builder” book.
I’m in a slow process of entering favourite family recipes onto the web, so that my far-flung children can find what they need when they want it.
I hope that some of the crew from Jackie’s blog will continue to find a new place to interact with fellow fans here.
All the best,
Joy
When I blogged the Apprentice in my early blogging days, I included with other subjects like sports, politics, entertainment and it sort of worked. I only had one person commenting, but found out that some of the contestants were reading it.
Hey Mike, thanks for the encouragement. See you on Thursday I hope!
