In a few minutes episode 5 will begin! My grandson is visiting for supper tonight, with his mom. They are just finishing up his bath and then they will watch it with me. What will happen tonight? Will there be a healthy alliance between Rome, Genevieve and Sol? Will Kyle win over Sue? Will anyone guess Sue’s real age? Have Sam and Sierra had enough of their quibbling? Stay tuned!
LAVO returns to their camp after tribal council. Teeny feels bamboozled, blindsided and betrayed. She is devastated to have lost Kishan. Rome asks Teeny if she knew about the plan, why didn’t she tell him. Genevieve and Teeny have a quiet talk on the shore, where Genevieve assures her that she was not one of the options for the vote. Teeny feels scared about her relationship with Rome. Genevieve tells Teeny that she was told the plan too, just like Teeny was. But in truth, Genevieve saw Kishan as the big threat, and she made the plan. The three, Rome, Genevieve and Teeny talk about their relationship. Teeny and Rome are telling each other what they think the other wants to hear, but neither of them seem to mean it.
-Opening Credits-
We begin with a challenge already! It is for two tribes not three tribes. There is blue, there is yellow, and there is no red. Everyone sees that Kishan was voted out. Brand new Survivor twist.
-Commercials-
Random draw across all three tribes to form two teams of seven, and these teams are only for this challenge. They will do the challenge together and if they win, they will enjoy the reward together. Oh, I missed the first part, but untie bags, aim for baskets. Brand new survivor reward: “Survivor Social Hour” barbecue hot dogs, play corn hole, socialize with players they might not know.
Teams:
- Yellow/Kyle, Sam, Tiyana, Teeny, Caroline, Sue, Rachel
- Blue/Rome, Sol, Gabe, Anika, Genevieve, Sierra, Andy
Kyle goes up the ladder and reaches three bags, while blue still works on their ladder. Yellow is in the lead. It’s interesting watching the teams get to know how to work together as a team with people they don’t really know that well yet. Yellow heads out to their reward. The blue team does not get to hang out together, no everyone goes back to their own camps. Teeny is the only LAVO going on that reward.

Kyle is happy to see that there is a veggie dog for him, cuz he’s a vegetarian, he is surprised and thrilled. Teeny tells them about tribal and how she was left out of the vote and how she feels like she is on the bottom, that this is her last supper. Sam says that they are a kumbayah tribe, that they go everywhere together and do everything together. Tiyana says that she is happy to be there with who she is there with, and the one person that she feels leery about isn’t with them, he is probably hunting for an idol right then. Sue rolls her eyes, feels like Tiyana is throwing him under the bus, I’m pretty sure Sue will tell him. Caroline decides to not play corn hole, but to talk with Teeny and Rachel istead. Tells them that Sue is her number one.
LAVO Genevieve is swimming, while at the camp Rome and Sol talk together about being mentally and physically tired. Genevieve joins them, then they walk away together to keep talking. Rome tells Sol everything, decides to trust him with everything he knows so that they can work together. Sol is in shock that Teeny has an amulet that she has not told Sol about. Rome poisoned his mind against Genevieve. Sol realized that he doesn’t know anything that is going on right now. Humbled. Rome then talks to Genevieve about keeping Sol instead of Teeny. Genevieve thinks that Rome is kind of chaotic. Genevieve feels a little frustrated because she prefers Teeny. Sol told Genevieve that Rome told him that Genevieve doesn’t want to work with him long term. Genevieve doesn’t like that Rome told him that. She feels that Rome’s value to her has gone down because he isn’e being honest with her.

GATA Sierra talks to the chickens. Those who didn’t go on reward consider letting them go, because they are not laying eggs. Uh-oh, if Sam were there he’d be slaughtering and cooking them. Now they are free instead because Sierra says that chickens are too much work. They try to fish, but the can’t figure out how to use the fishing gear. Sam and Rachel return to camp and see them wrestling with the fishing net. Sam and Rachel catch them up on the tea. Sam leaves out that Sue told him that they heard that Sierra and Sam are basically running things at camp. Sam tells Sierra about it later, and tells her that he downplayed it. Rachel tells the other gals that Sue told her that the ladies are together. Sierra feels like her game can go either way, either work with the gals or the guys.
LAVO Teeny tells them that the food was minimal and there wasn’t much. She tells a slightly tweaked version of what really happened. That she feels like she is at the bottom. Rome says he feels like Teeny got almost no information when he things she could have gotten lots of information. Rome goes fishing, then Genevieve and Sol tell Teeny that Rome went nuts and told them secrets and that he tried to pit Sol and Genevieve against each other. Teeny feels that they now see that Rome is too chaotic to keep long term.
TUKU gathers around the campfire. Tiyana says she will go swimming and then go crabbing. Sue stays pretty silent until Tiyana is gone, then she tells Gabe that Tiyana threw him under the bus big time. Caroline backs her up, but she wants all five of them to work together going into the merge as a solid five, a cohesive family. But she sees that it is not going to happen. She tells Tiyana that she is worried that Gabe will find out about what she said and that she needs to come clean with Gabe and apologize. Tiyana decides to do as Caroline asked her to do. Gabe doesn’t believe her at all, though he is nice to her face. They hug. He accepts her BS apology. He wants to get her out.

It is an immunity challenge. GATA brings their chickens, thankfully they did not set them free in the wild. They want to trade the chickens for 24 eggs. Jeff challenges them and eventually agrees on 18 eggs. He wonders why they didn’t eat the chickens, Sam, who wanted to eat the chickens says that for some people that was not an option, so for the tribe it was not an option.
Anika and Sue sit out of the challenge.
Teams will drag a large full net to the next spot. One player needs to saw a string to release coconuts and sand bags which must be loaded into the net bag. Kyle, Andy (who starts by using the knife backwards), and Sol. Andy finishes last, Kyle finishes first. They drag the heavy net to the next box full of coconuts, fill the coconuts into the bag. TUKU is in the lead and can now empty their bag. Once they have every sandbag they can start knocking down their puzzle wall. The puzzle pieces are very heavy, and the sandbags do not seem heavy enough to budge the walls much. Kyle rocks at this game, so does Sol. GATA is still back at the second stage of the challenge. TUKU is good and now must rebuild their puzzle wall. TUKU is finished knocking down the wall, LAVO is stuck at a puzzle piece jam, and GATA is only now arriving at the wall. Sam makes quick work of the wall, they have now passed LAVO. Everyone now works at building the puzzle, all players are able to work together.
TUKU wins immunity and is safe from tribal council. LAVO is still ahead of GATA in the puzzle assembly, but it’s pretty close. LAVO beats GATA by one piece, by seconds. LAVO says they feel greatly relieved, and proud of themselves because most of them have only eaten coconuts. TUKU and LAVO head out.
The eggs are waiting for them back at camp but they have no way to cook the eggs because Jeff will take their flint.
Andy tells us that it could be him, and he knows that he has been at the bottom for most of the game, but he feels like he has laid the groundwork against Anika and that maybe things could change in his favour.

GATA returns to camp and Sam talks abbout the roller coaster of succesful chicken negotiations and then the hard blow of a loss. Sam thinks that if they had sawed the rope faster they would have won, hinting that he wants Andy to go. Anika looks sad and she is quiet. She also is targetting Andy. She thinks their tribe will be better without Andy there. People are sitting in the water bathing, and then Andy says he has to pee, leaves a litte ways away from them to do it. Sam says that Andy is someone he wants to go, but in the long term he wants Anika gone, she is the one he mostly doesn’t trust. Andy then gushes about how Anika is someone he really trusts. He says that his alliace with Sam and Sierra is top secret. He tells Anika that he will be a number for her. Andy says that he knows his role if they are going to blindside Anika. The girls discuss that it would be more beliveable to him if they tell him that they are going to vote Sam. Andy knows that this is a fake plan, he feels like he is manipulating them. Sierra and Sam discuss how to navigate as a pair when their goals might be slightly different. Sam really wants to keep Andy while Sierra really wants to keep Anika. Sierra assures Sam that Anika can’t vote. Sam talks about deciding what to do about his idol. If he plays it tonight (it is only good for tonight) then Andy will know that Sam didn’t tell him about it.

Tribal council. GATA summarizes some things they learned at the Survivor Social, and explains what they think the impression the other tribes have about them. Andy gushes about trusting Sam and Sierra completely and he tells the tribe (by telling Jeff) that he knows that he is on the bottom in an attempt to continue his manipulation of them. Now they discuss who to vote out tonight. Rachel says that having cohesion after this vote is the most important thing. Sam is confident that his we is going to be cohesive tonight. Oh my, I’m such an adolescent sometimes, with the way I hear things. Everyone ageees that they are part of the right we. Sam opts not to play his idol. Smart move, and does this mean Andy is staying?
Votes: Anika, Andy, Anika, Anika
Anika and Rachel are completely shocked. Completely. Shocked. Anika asks Rachel: Did you know about this? No. She stares at the others, Who? Who owned this? Sam raises his finger. Andy says it was the three of us, three votes. Sierra says nothing. Anika does not wish them well, says nothing more and cries on her way out. I am not sure if this tribe will be returning a cohesive four.
- Andy – Anika
- Anika – no vote
- Rachel – Andy
- Sam – Anika
- Sierra – Anika
I’ll write Anika’s last words later, I have to drive my sleepy grandson and his sweet mama home.
Take care!!
In her final words, Anika expressed her shock, disappointment and devastation.
