I’m sitting here in central Alberta, subscribed to Stack TV, so that I can watch Survivor right as it airs in Toronto!! Modern technology is so darn handy! Join me and catch the developments as they air….or later on in the week, whatever floats your boat!
What will happen this week? Will Kyle feel abandoned and alone, or will he continue to bond with the people who genuinely like him, like Tiyana? Will Andy continue to receive as much attention and approval as he needs, or will his tribe get tired of it? Will LAVO keep their winning streak?
So, here we go!!
We start with memories of Rome’s neverending energy, his team deciding to vote him out first, and Rome finding the idol. Sam finding the idol. TK talking about how he hates losers and then his tribe plotting to vote him out. I still think Gabe was genious to play his idol, get it out of there. Idols are usually best kept secret.
OK, review is over here is new stuff. Kyle tries and succeeds to get the fire going. Everyone says they are emotionally exhausted. Kyle stands with them, seems part of it. Gabe talks about playing his idol, how watching last season he saw way too many people go home with the idol in their pocket. Huh, I thought this team had been playing the game while last season aired, but I guess they saw it. Kyle asks Tiyanna if she voted TK, he said he would have voted TK if he had known that the team was voting that way too. Caroline and Sue cheer and dance quietly together that they pulled off that blindside. Sue takes it personally that Kyle voted for her. She doesn’t like men who underestimate her.
-Opening credits-
GATA Is asleep in their bamboo hut, Rachel can not sleep comfortably and her back really hurts. Anika also complains about how uncomfortable their shelter is. The ladies want to fix the floor of the shelter, but Sam wants to hunt the morning crabs. They decide to do the crabs later. Sam is very hungry and kinda resents that he has to help make the bed more comfy. Anika and Sam kind of bicker back and forth. Andy keeps shaking his head and kinda laughing at them bickering over the clothesline. Andy says that though her feels like he is on the bottom, the bickering gives him some hope that things could turn around for him.

LAVO gathers on the beach to watch the sunrise. Chatting. Aysha and others groan about Rome and his assumed ownership of the fishing gear. Rome groans because he has to fish AND start the fire AND carry that heavy pot…DO IT ALL. People just want a break from him, but he wnats people to be preparing to cook the fish he catches. I’m amazed at him, his energy never ends, he can do everything and he never seems to get tired. He’s like the opposite of me, ha ha, I am severely lacking in physical energy. Rome decides to eat half the fish himself, and geve very little to the others. He feels they didn’t deserve any, cuz they didn’t do anything to help.
GATA sits on teh shore for the sunrise and chat. Sam reveals his deep, dark secret: he has never eaten watermelon. Anika and Rachel and Sierra begin to list various vegetables and he says he hasn’t tried most of them. Andy sees that Anika and Rachel are a duo, so he is trying to line himself up with both Sierra and Sam. Andy offers to give Sierra his shot in the dark before the next tribal. They hook pinkies, “Whatever you need, Sierra, I’m giving you my game.”
TUKU Gabe and Kyle find some nuts and sit on the shelter to eat nuts together. They express that they really want to work together. Gabe calls him a decent guy, but while Kyle looks at him and says thanks, Gabe doesn’t even look at him. Gabe tells Kyle that he wants to see Tiyana go next. Kyle doesn’t want to ever flip on Tiyana. He’d rather get Caroline and Sue to turn on Gabe. He tells them the trutch, that Gabe sees them as his goats. Sue doesn’t buy it, she is angry at Kyle for voting for her. But, its true. Kyle really is such a good and genuine guy. I hope he goes far.
All teams see a boat come to their shores. There is a note: 1 person must get on the boat and will return to camp later in the afternoon. Kyle goes, hoping for an advantage – unfortunately I think Gabe will rally the tribe against him while he is away. Anika wants to go – Sam agrees she can go, but he doesn’t want her to, yet she is going. Rome and Sol rock paper scissors to decide. Rome goes. Aysha is frustrated that he got to go because she doesn’t want him to gain another advantage.

Rome and Anika tell Kyle that they are real glad that it wasn’t him last night, and they are thrilled that it was TK because he was being too cocky and arrogant. Kyle and Rome wonder about Sierra and Sam, but Anika points out that Sierra and Sam both have couples back home, Sam is even engaged. Rome expresses that he is on the bottom, that no one has talked strategy with him yet. He tells them that Sol and Aysha are running things.
Each player must choose a different path. There are three packages inside the bag, they must pick one. If pick an advantage they can keep it, they are done. If they choose a lose a vote, they can pick again, but they lose a vote at the next tribal council. If they pick a lose your vote again, they can not pick a third bag but they lose their vote at two tribals.
Kyle picks lose your vote, decides he can’t afford to lose two votes, so he opts not to choose again.
Anika picks lose your vote, she sticks with her one lose a vote.
Rome gets the advantage. He can steal a vote from another player. The player he chooses will not vote, instead he will vote twice. He says if he can show that to his alliance, his alliance will never turn on him. Who is his alliance again? Teeny and Kishan, I think.

The boats return to the tribes. Anika tells GATA who else was there and Sam decides not to trust whatever she says. She tells them everyone thinks Sam and Sierra are a couple. Meanwhile, Kyle tells TUKU, “…so they’re NOT a thing.” Sierra is concerned about the speculation that she and Sam are working together. Kyle tells TUKU about the scrolls, how you have to pick one. He admits that he lost his vote. Anika tells GATA that she had a choice to play the game and she chose to keep her vote. Then she tells Rachel and Sierra the truth, that she just didn’t want Andy to know that she lost her vote. Rome tells LAVO that he lost his vote. Sol asks to see the note, Rome says he had to leave it there. Later Rome tells Teeny the truth, that he did not lose a vote, that he got a steal a vote. Teeny admits that every advantage he wins pushes her deeper into the alliance she has with him and Kishan and she includes Genevieve as well. So, unfortunately Sol and Aysha are on the outs in that team. Sucks, cuz they are amazing, like everyone else on LAVO.

Challenge time! This one is 100% on water, teams arrive on motor boats. Immunity. 1 tribe member climbs on to the top of a tall tower, leaps into the ocean, retrieves a key, balance beam, back in the water, then climbs up on the raft at the end of the course. The rest of the tribe will do it in pairs. Seahorse puzzle at the end. Reward is 2 hammocks, a large tarp. Second prize is a smaller tarp and no hammocks. Loser has to go to tribal council and lose their flint. Kishan tells us that he learned how to swim 4 months ago with swimming lessons. LAVO sits out Genevieve. The other 2 tribes already have only five members.
For GATA Andy goes first and requests that the two slowest people go together.
In LAVO Sol asks Rome if he can go first. Rome wants to go first, and insists on it.
Kyle goes first for TUKU.
TUKU’s Kyle is in the lead, Rome is right behind him. GATA’s Andy is struggling, his team cheers him on. Kyle and Rome are finished, Andy was on the balance beam and slipped right at the end, had to do it over. TUKU’s Sue and Tiyana almost finish their course before Andy finally finishes his. LAVO’s Aysha and Kishan are taking a long time. Sam and Anika jump in for GATA. GATA has passed LAVO. Rachel and Sierra jump in for GATA. TUKU starts on the puzzle. Sol and Teeny jump in for LAVO. Gabe and Caroline are puzzling for TUKU, the other three are scheming about something. Anika and Rachel work on the puzzle for GATA. Aysha and Kishan work on the puzzle for LAVO. LAVO is the only team that has not gone to tribal council and they are in dead last. Rome is frustrated, because they aren’t listening to his advice.
GATA wins immunity and the big reward. TUKU wins immunity and the small reward. We will see LAVO at tribal in a few minutes. Genevieve kisses the flint she is holding goodbye. TUKU gets their flint back. I’m happy that this give Kyle a little more time to win Sue over.
Rome expresses that he is nervous about tonight, he lies some more about his advantage. Sol knows that Rome is lying, judging from his body language. Sol is amazing, I hope that he is not the one they vote out.
-commercials break-
LAVO tribe talks about how sad they are to have lost. Sol says, “lets move on and not dwell on it.” Teeny says that they have to decide Sol or Aysha. Aysha wants to target Rome, but Genevieve is the one Aysha and Teeny decide on. Teeny tells Aysha that she will veer people away from voting Aysha. Teeny feels like it has to be Sol to save Aysha. Rome wants Aysha gone, Teeny persuaded him towards Sol. Rome admits that he cannot stand Sol, hopes that he won’t play his shot in the dark. Rome talks to Sol, tells him its 99% Aysha. Gee, Sol is so cool, I wish they weren’t settling on him. Sol challenges his with the alternative that Rome is saying what he is saying to lull Sol into a false sense of security – which is exactly what Rome is doing. Rome continues to lie. I wonder, if everyone chose to vote Rome, and Rome opted to NOT play his one tribal idol….
Kishan and Teeny tell Aysha that Rome has an idol. That they saved her. They both want to work with her. They tell her to vote Sol. Aysha doesn’t want Sol to go home, she doesn’t want to keep Genevieve and Rome together. Kishan is concerned about that. Teeny and Kishan moan that Aysha wasn’t hearing them. They tell Rome that Aysha won’t vote Sol. I think they should vote Rome and let the chips fall where they will. I have a feeling Rome will choose to hang on to his idol as a souvenier, making him a little vulnerable.

LAVO enters the tribal council area. They light their torches and get fire. Jeff starts to ask Rome a question, Rome is uncomfortable with it, so Jeff asks Genevieve the first question. Sol admits that he thought this was going to be about alliances, but he got a feeling now, a bad feeling. Rome talks about overthinking, getting too paranoid and becoming a target. Both Sol and Aysha have a bad feeling, but they are in the minority, the vote will probably go the way they’ve been saying it will. Kishan says that he is loyal to the core four. Sol and Aysha thought it was 5 against Rome, not a core four. They talk about all the conversations that are happening that some people aren’t a part of. Sol and Aysha share a meaningful look. Genevieve points out that just happened. Now Teeny wonders what is going on. Is something going on? Is there a secret playing out? Aysha says that she hopes that the person who agreed to vote with her, sticks to that. Teeny looks either regretful or like she is changing her mind. Teeny and Kishan look at each other, questioning.
Voting begins. Rome plays his idol for himself. Sol groans inwardly. Rome. Genevieve. Sol. Aysha. Aysha. Aysha. Aysha says “Wow. That really hurts. Was that you two, Sol?” Sol: “No.” Out she goes. Rome grins and nods.
- Aysha – Genevieve
- Genevieve – Aysha
- Kishan – Aysha
- Rome – Aysha
- Sol – Rome
- Teeny – Sol
- In her final words, Aysha expresses how hard this game is, and how fortunate she feels to have been in this place with these people at this time.
Wow, at first I confused Andy and Kyle and I was like, wow, he’s so level headed now. But nope, Andy is still a hot mess. I’m glad the favourites stayed in again!
