Cold Tea and Lemonade

Posted on June 3, 2021March 11, 2022 by Joy

I use the GIANT mason jars

Lemonade

  • 2 large round ice cubes
  • The juice of 3 lemons (about 1/3 cup of juice)
  • 1/3 cup Sugar (or less)
  • A handful of frozen raspberries
  • A sprig of fresh peppermint leaves from my garden

Fill the jar up to the shoulders and cap it firmly closed.

Shake well several times, until when you tip the bottle upside down, you can see that the sugar has dissolved.

Cold Tea

In the largest canning jar, gather:

  • 1/3 cup Oolong tea leaves
  • 1/3 Holy Basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup Peppermint or spearmint leaves
  • 1/3 cup Stinging Nettles you might have preserved last spring

Pour boiling water overtop and fill jar to the shoulders.

Put on oven mitts so you can screw on the cap and give it a good shake

When it is cool, strain it into a clean large jar.

Divide tea between three jars, then add to each:

  • 2 large round ice cubes
  • The juice from one lemon (about 3 Tablespoons)
  • 3 Tbsp Sugar
  • Fresh peppermint sprigs
  • A handful of frozen raspberries

Fill the jar up to the shoulders and cap it firmly closed.

Shake well several times, until when you tip the bottle upside down, you can see that the sugar has dissolved.
