Garlic tea is a fantastic remedy to help you through a cold or flu. You’ve probably already heard that garlic is a natural healer, here is a soothing way to take advantage of the healing properties of garlic and honey to help you through your time of rest and recovery. It really is best to take time off from your work and rest to support your body while it fights for your health.
Thinly slice as many cloves of garlic as your palette likes. Start with two, but I like to use up to six and you can use as many as you like.
Put a generous scoop of honey into a clean, litre sized canning jar.
Sprinkle your sliced garlic on top.
Pour the boiling water in and stir to dissolve the honey and release the garlic properties.
Once the honey is invisible, add a quarter to a half cup of concentrated lemon juice. The amount you add depends on how sweet or how tart you want your tea to be.
Let it sit a few minutes more, then drink it all up within an hour.
You can do this every day, and if your cold or flu is extra bad, you can have two in a day.
If you also have a bad cough, add some Thyme powder too. Thyme soothes the cough. And maybe use lime juice instead of lemon, because lime juice is particularly good for the lungs.
