French Toast

Posted on January 18, 2024April 13, 2024 by Joy

French Toast is a tasty and satisfying way to use up any slices of bread that might have gotten stale. This recipe also works well with fresh bread.

In a shallow bowl, that is wide enough at the bottom for your biggest slice of bread to lay flat in, gather the following:

  • 1 cup Milk
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • A pinch of salt.
  • (Optional, add a teaspoon of cinnamon for a warm taste)

Whisk this with a fork until it is frothy.

Heat up a fry pan and begin melting butter in it.

Soak a slice of bread in the batter, then flip it so the other side can also absorb the batter: 5 seconds per side.

Put the soaked slice of bread in the hot melted butter in the pan, then flip it. Fry for 2 minutes per side.

Repeat process with another slice of bread, and another, until all the batter has been used up.

Serve like a pancake, with any of the following:

  • Berries
  • Butter
  • Drizzle of juice squeezed out of an orange wedge
  • Grated Cheese
  • Icing Sugar
  • Jam
  • Syrup
  • Whipped cream
