Onion Syrup

Posted on November 10, 2022 by Joy

Onion Syrup is a helpful remedy for a bad cough that is keeping you up at night.

Take an onion and peel it.

Slice it thinly and place the slices in a bowl.

Sprinkle it with sugar until the entire onion is buried like snow.

Set it aside in the fridge.

After an hour or two the sugar and the onion juices will have produced a sweet syrup.

Give the sick person a tablespoon or two at a time, whenever the cough becomes bothersome again.

Try to sleep in such a way that your chest and head are elevated.

You can also place sliced onions on the soles of the sick person’s feet for the night and secure them in place with a pair of cotton socks.

Cut an onion in half and place half beside the bedside of the sick person. In the morning throw the contaminated onion away. Do not eat it, the old wives warn that it has absorbed the part of the illness from you.
