Hello Survivor Fans!
In a few minutes, episode 9 will debut. What will happen tonight? Will Sam be considered less of a threat now that his partner is on the jury? Will Kyle continue to win immunities and be able to keep his sweet and wholesome self in the game? Will Sue ever trust Kyle? Will Rachel be able to meld softly into relationships with the others and be perceived as less of a threat? And most importantly, who will be voted out tonight?
Back at camp after tribal council, Sam thanks them for keeping him. He’s blown away. Rachel hugs him and tells him that she still wants to work with him. Initially, he tells her that is impossible. He acknowledges that they lied to him and were good at acting. Rachel also tells him that she doesn’t know who to trust. Sam says that the only mistake they made was keeping him around after this. Rachel feels alone, feels like she has few options. The others appreciate that they stuck to the exact plan. Andy feels like he is a certified flipper, and feels he now must do damage control with the remaining GATA members. He tells Sam that he was just trying to position himself better. Tells Sam that everyone wanted Sam gone, but Andy did everything he could to make it Sierra not Sam. Sam puts an arm around him.
-opening credits-
BEKA day 16. Rachel and Andy talk on the beach. Rachel tells Andy that Sierra suggested Andy. Rachel observes that they’e orbitted each other but never connected. Andy feels like they should be working together in this game, that was his plan from day one. We see some flashbacks from their first days, how she was all in at first until his anxiety scared her away. Rachel is cautious because Andy has blindsided her at tribal twice, for Anika and for Sierra. In their conversation it looks like they might decide to make the risk to start over and work together. Andy asks who she doesn’t trust and she names two gals who don’t like Kyle because he keeps winning challenges. Sorry, I forget who she named, but I think one of them is Sierra.

Teeny tells Sam that she is sorry for what happened to him last night. It’s hard to be forced to breakup with a partner. It hurts. He tells her that he is ready to play. Sol and Genevieve walk up, he tells them he is ready to play with them. Sol likes his attitude, not being emotional, not pissed. Sam is lying to them though. Teeny says that she can’t read who Gabe wants to work with. The others think he is tight with Sue and Caroline. Sol admits he is trying to get out Gabe.
Tribe must self-divide into 5 pairs before they head to the Immunity challenge. They need to pick someone they think they can work well with, yet someone who they think they can beat when they go head to head.
- Andy & Sam
- Kyle & Gabe
- Genevieve & Sue
- Rachel & Caroline
- Teeny & Sol
The last 2 pairs are out after the first stage. The first 2 pairs move on past the second stage. In the final stage, the four of them compete as 4 individuals. Last person left standing wins immunity. There is also a reward for the final four. They will enjoy a picnic: BLT sandwiches, chips, soft drinks. The first 2 pairs who are out lose their votes and will take a journey for a chance to win back a vote.
First stage: One at a time crawl through a low, sandy wire mesh tunnel and find a puzzle stack of pieces and pull it through the tunnel with them. At the end when both are through, they dig out another puzzzle piece stack. Gabe & Kyle are the first two through before most have even finished the tunnel. Teeny & Sol are through. Genevieve & Sue are done.
Rachel & Caroline, Andy & Sam have lost their vote and will journey for a chance to win it back.

Second stage: They will use their puzzle steps, one at a time, in the right order – to climb a staircase. Looks like there are about a dozen steps in the puzzle, maybe more. The race is tight, all three pairs are doing well. Sue & Genevieve are the first ones at the top. They must walk across a narrow beam that has graduated levels from one end of the platform over a net, to the other side. Teeny is first across. Then Sue. Sol falls. Kyle and Gabe are up. Kyle quickly crosses. Sol’s across. Gabe is across. Down a slide. Genevieve is across. Down the slide. Sue & Genevieve fall short on the beam. Hugs all around, huge effort, all did well.
Final round: Each player is on the highest interval of several within a doorframe of sorts. Players must balance each foot on a narrow piece of wood, about five feet up, each in their own wide door frame. It’s a live transition as they move down to the next, narrower foothold. All four of them made it. Live transition down to the next narrower foothold. Ten minutes per foothold. Teeny and Sol drop with less than one minute left in this level. Live transition down to the final, narrowest foothold. Both must start moving at the same time. Both guys have done it. They will stay at this foothold until somebody drops. They cannot see each other. Kyle drops. Gabe wins individual immunity. Kyle won three in a row, now it is Gabe’s turn.
Andy, Rachel, Caroline, Sam will leave now to go on their journey for A CHANCE to win their vote back, it is not guaranteed. Everyone else is going back to camp, but Gabe, Kyle, Sol and Teeny will get to enjoy a picnic. Kyle acknowledges that he is now a sitting duck, he can be knocked off as easy as the next guy.

After the challenge, the winners walk to their picnic which is delicious looking toasted BLT’s, chips, clean water, and soda. Sol can’t stop burping. He says he grew up burping in front of his family and when he is feeling comfortable, he just lets it go. Gabe joins in to the burping contest. Kyle brings up that there are only about 20 minutes that they have together. Gabe suggests they vote for Sam. Though Sol likes Sam, he goes along with it, as long as it isn’t him.
At camp, Genevieve tells Sue that Sol wants Gabe out. Sue wants to get back at Kyle, but she knows that she can’t lose Gabe. Sue suggests that they do a big blindside on Sol. Genevieve feels about Sol as Sue feels about Kyle.
The losers took a motor boat on their journey. Sam feels blue that he didn’t win immunity, he really thought he would win this one. As they walk along the beach to their desitination, they talk about what they expect: they expect each of them to have their own puzzle. But they will compete against each other. Three of them will earn their vote back, one will not.

The well fed winners return to camp. The four plan to tell the two about Sam, Sue and Genevieve agree without much enthusiasm. Sue asked Genevieve to talk with Gabe about it, how Teeny and Sol targeted Gabe this morning. She would liek to take out subtle threats, and no one is talking about Sol. Thinking about it, Gabe finds that he agrees with her. He thinks they can do this, but he needs to get some people on board. Genevieve approaches Kyle about it. Kyle says that as long as Caroline has a vote they should go for it. Everyone reasons, “As long as it isn’t me…” Genevieve acknowledges that it all depends on what is coming back from the journey.
The losers have to build a tower out of metal cards. If the tower falls during your turn, you lose, the other three get their votes back. They form triangles on top of triangles on top of triangles. It falls over during Carolines turn. They talk about who will be voted out tonight, the losers all think that they should vote out Kyle.

Teeny, Genevieve, and two other women meet at the well and they announce it will be one of the strong men: Kyle or Sam. Genevieve approaches Andy to ask about Sol. Andy wants to get rid of Sol, but he was hoping to keep him for a few votes yet, but the last thing he wants to do is go against the majority in a blind side. Rachel is told and decides to show her new allies that she is with them and she will vote with them. Sam asks her who it is going to be and Rachel says she can’t tell him, but it’s not him. Sam guesses that she is working with TUKU and blindsiding one of the LAVO, is it Sol? She asks him to not vote in her spot. He agrees with her, and then goes to tell Sol. Sam says that they need to act big, so he suggests to Sol that they target Sue with Genevieve and Andy and Teeny. He tells Sol to get them to join them in voting for Sue. Sol tells Teeny that Andy and Genevieve are voting Sue. Teeny goes to talk with Genevieve about it. Sam approaches Andy about it. They think they have Genevieve, I don’t think they have Genevieve. They should talk to Kyle, he will vote for Sue. Gabe and Kyle and talk about it. Teeny tells Genevieve. Genevieve feels her plan slipping through her fingers. Teeny suggests Kyle. Now they switch it to Kyle. Good gracious. What will they do? What will they do, y’all?

Tribal Council. After the tribe is seated, Sierra walks angrily in as the first member of the jury. While Kyle answers Jeff;s first question, Sol whispers to Genevieve that it should be Sue. Genevieve acts surprised. While Genevieve answers the second question, Sam tells Teeny that he is voting for Sue, but Teeny says that something feels weird. Sam and Andy whisper, is it Sue or is it Kyle? Sam whispers to Rachel. Teeny whispers to Gabe and he says Kyle. Teeny tells Gabe that she was told to vote Sue and Gabe angrily says who told you that? Who will it be? Sol, Sue or Kyle?
Rachel does not play her idol. Jeff reads the votes: Sol, Sue, Sol, Sol, Sol, Sol.
Characteristicly, Sol gets up with his attractive good nature and roots for Teeny to go get ’em. Genevieve can’t believe that her plan actually worked.
