Easy Cheesy Garlic Bread

Posted on September 17, 2024 by Joy

I make this for my husband and I when we want pizza but don’t want to order any. It’s perfect for small batches, not so good for large crowds.

What we need:

  • A nice, clean toaster oven
  • High quality, soft, sourdough bread that we buy sliced from a nearby bakery
  • A bag of grated “Italian Blend” cheese
  • Salted butter
  • A shaker of garlic powder

What I do:

We keep our sliced sourdough bread in the freezer so that it is ALWAYS fresh, never stale. We try not to eat bread very often, but when we do, we want the taste to be worth it. So I pull out a couple slices each of the frozen bread slices, and then I spread them with soft butter.

I sprinkle each slice liberally with garlic powder.

I sprinkle each slice liberally with the delicious 4 cheese Italian blend of grated cheese.

Ever so carefully, I slide as many slices as will fit into our little toaster oven.

I TOAST it – not bake, not broil, TOAST it for about 10-15 minutes — long enough for the cheese to melt and the bread to crisp up a bit.

Goes GREAT with chili, chicken soup, or salad.
